DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND ORGANIZATION OF SPORTS EVENTS

THE HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Management and Organization of Sports Events was established in 2023, offering courses in disciplines such as Sports Management, Taxation, Economic Theory, Sports Marketing, Sports Economics, Financial Management, and Project Financing in Sports from its inception.

In 2008, the department introduced the Master's program in Management of Physical Education and Sports, with over 100 specialists graduating from this program and contributing to various sports organizations in our republic. In 2011, it underwent reorganization into the Department of Sports Management and Tourism, then renamed as the Department of Sports Management and Economics in 2014. During these years, the department was led by distinguished individuals including Gulomov Z.T., Yadgarov A.A., Yuldashev F., Ablaeva Y.S., and Abdiev N.A.

Since 2017, the department has been led by Dr. Ziyadullaev K.Sh., a candidate of economic sciences. Additionally, in compliance with Appendix No. 25 to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 20, 2017, No. PP-2909, new undergraduate directions were introduced: Management of Physical Education and Sports in 2018-2019, Marketing (Sports) in 2019-2020, and specialized master's programs in Marketing (Sports) in 2020-2021 and Sports Activity: Chess in 2023-2024.

In 2017, Erkinov Sh., a master's student in Management of Physical Education and Sports, was awarded the Presidential Scholarship under the guidance of Dr. Ziyadullaev K.Sh. Similarly, Mirzamolova S., a student of Management, and Eshonkulov B., a student of Marketing, were recipients of the Ibn Sina Scholarship in 2021-2022 and 2022-2023, respectively.In the academic year 2023-2024, the Department of Sports Management and Economics expanded its undergraduate and master's programs to include the specialization in Organization of Sports Events, leading to the renaming of the department to Management and Organization of Sports Events. Currently, the department boasts a faculty of 51, including 36 full-time members and 11 internal and 4 external staff members serving part-time roles.
