DEPARTMENT OF STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AND WORKING WITH INTERNATIONAL RANKINGS
Department Activities:
The Department of Strategic Development and Working with International Rankings is a structural unit of the Uzbekistan State University of Physical Education and Sports.
The department coordinates the development of the university's future strategy in collaboration with structural divisions and departments.
It also coordinates the collaboration of the university and its structural units, faculty, and staff with organizations that publish international rankings.
In carrying out its activities, the department collaborates with all structural divisions, departments, as well as foreign higher education institutions, organizations, and centers.
Purpose of the Department:
- To study various international ranking systems (QS, THE, ARWU, etc.) and analyze the criteria they set;
- To compare the current status of the university with these rankings and identify its strengths and weaknesses;
- To develop strategic plans to improve the university's position in international rankings;
- To formulate measures to enhance the university's scientific, educational, and innovative potential;
- To collect and provide necessary statistical and scientific data to ranking organizations;
- To regularly update information about the university's activities;
- To strengthen cooperation with internationaluniversities, research institutes, and organizations;
- To develop student and faculty exchange programs;
- To devise and implement marketing strategies to enhance the university's image on the international stage;
- To promote the university's successes and achievements on an international level;
- To report to the university leadership on ranking results and develop recommendations.
Functions of the Department:
- To assist university departments and divisions in implementing collaborative projects with organizations and ranking agencies that publish international rankings;
- To organize foreign trips related to international rankings based on existing regulatory documents;
- To prepare quarterly, semi-annual, nine-month, and annual reports on the university's collaboration with organizations that publish international rankings, submit them to the university's monitoring department with the approval of the university leadership, and present them to relevant organizations and authorities;
- To organize activities in other areas aimed at raising the university's international ranking within the scope of the department's activities, review relevant documents, and prepare recommendations;
- To work directly with organizations that publish international rankings, ranking agencies, local and international experts, consultants, and specialists;
- To facilitate the invitation of organizations that publish international rankings, ranking agencies, local and international experts, consultants, and specialists to the university, as well as organize and ensure the participation of university specialists in foreign events, roundtable discussions, international forums, and conferences, preparing the necessary documentation;
- To ensure the university's inclusion in the top 1000 of internationally recognized rankings such as Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), and other prestigious international rankings;
- To collect, monitor, and coordinate information related to improving the university's international ranking, determining and overseeing the contribution of the university to international rankings across departments.
