Today, the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sports received a delegation led by the Executive Advisor of the World Taekwondo Police Federation, Mayor of Pocheon, South Korea, Park Yoon-Guk.
Initially, the delegation members, accompanied by the leadership team led by the university's rector Rashid Matkarimov, inspected the existing sports facilities at the university and the conditions created for students, and got acquainted with the exhibits in the university's history museum.
After that, a meeting was held between the honored guests and the university leadership, the representative of the Ministry of Sports Muqim Arzikulov, the rector's advisor Baek Mun-Jong and heads of departments. During the meeting, opinions were expressed and proposals were made on important issues such as the work, achievements and plans being carried out in our country and at our university in the field of taekwondo, the training of qualified specialists in this sport, strengthening the material and technical base of the university, as well as the construction of a new taekwondo hall on the territory of the university within the framework of bilateral cooperation and the organization of the Governor Park Yoon-Guk Cup annually in this complex.
It is important that during the conversation between the parties, the Mayor of Pocheon Park Yoon-Guk specifically acknowledged the attention paid by the Head of State Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the sports sector.
At the end of the meeting, the representative of the Ministry of Sports, Muqim Arzikulov, presented the “Physical Education and Sports Excellence” badge to the Rector’s Advisor, Baek Mun-Jong, and the parties exchanged souvenirs. At the same time, talented students of the university, the champion of Uzbekistan in taekwondo and international masters of sports Shamsiddin Kurbonov and Mohiniso Turayeva, were presented with cash prizes in the amount of five million sums by the mayor of Pocheon, Park Yoon-Guk.
